Build Your Foundation for ICD-10 with a Solid Slab of A&P - 3 Part Series

ICD-10-CM coders will need more comprehensive knowledge in anatomy and physiology and pathophysiology to be able to decipher diagnosis information and to choose the right diagnosis code to fit the situation. A better knowledge in anatomy and physiology can assist in improving clinical documentation as well. Participants will learn what clinical information is needed to support skilled care and the diagnoses chosen and what information needs to be requested from physicians and discharge planners.  Start 2014 off right by obtaining the foundational knowledge you need to be successful with ICD-10.

The A&P course is offered in a 3 part webinar to include:

Part 1
Will discuss the differences between ICD-9 and ICD-10; the increased specificity required in documentation, with specific examples; and what agencies can do now to minimize payment delays especially in light of intensified medical review.  We will go on to introduce anatomy and physiology and documentation required for the neurological and musculoskeletal systems.

Part 2
Will discuss the documentation and A&P needed for effectiveness in ICD-10 with the endocrine, circulatory and respiratory systems.

Part 3
Will discuss the documentation and A&P needed for effectiveness in ICD-10 with the integumentary, mental and behavioral, digestive and urinary systems.
