Audio Conference: Preferred Provider Agreements Have Arrived: Increasing & Maintaining Market Share

Starts:  Sep 8, 2016 12:00 PM (CT)
Ends:  Sep 15, 2016 01:30 PM (CT)
Our most recent teleconference on Preferred Provider Agreements was presented in November, 2014.  How the world of Preferred Provider Agreements has changed since 2014!  Hospitals are clamoring for preferred provider relationships to help control length of stay (LOS), readmission penalties and mortality rates.  Assisted living facilities and retirement communities seek relationships in order to support residents in their apartments for as long as possible.  Physicians, nursing facilities and rehab facilities also see increased value in such relationships.  In light of recent developments, how should post-acute (PAC) providers, including home health agencies, therapists, hospices, HME suppliers, ALF’s, and private duty agencies  and others establish and maintain Preferred Provider Agreements?  What do hospital discharge planners/case managers and PAC providers need to know about preferred provider relationships and patients’ right to freedom of choice?  What does CMS say? What is the first step to negotiate Agreements?  Is it appropriate to use “templates?”  What are key provisions that should be included in Agreements?  The emphasis will be on addressing practical issues so that providers will know how to increase and maintain market share through preferred provider relationships.
