On February 5, 2016, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) published a brief notice in the Federal Register announcing their effort to seek approval from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to collect information “required for a probable fraud measurement pilot.” CMS has noted that this “Pre-Claim Review” demonstration project will initially be implemented for home health providers in five states. The project will be rolled out gradually over the next six months:
∙ Illinois: August 1, 2016 ∙ Texas: December 1, 2016
∙ Florida: October 1, 2016 ∙ Michigan and Massachusetts: January 1, 2017
