Frequently Asked Questions
Are only members of TAHC&H able to give to the Home Care & Hospice Defense Fund (HC&HDF)?
No, anyone can donate to the HC&HDF. We appreciate contributions from individuals or organizations. Individuals who believe in Home Care and Hospice and want to ensure it is there for their parents when needed may also give the HC&HDF.
Why should I contribute to the Home Care & Hospice Defense Fund if my agency pays dues?
A portion of your dues support TAHC&H advocacy efforts. However, regulatory threats and continued Medicare/Medicaid budgetary shortfalls have grown. That is why, TAHC&H has taken extra steps to retain a team of State and Federal lobbyists, consultants, public relations support, and economists. In the long term, these costs have exceeded the income from your membership dues, making the extra fundraising necessary.
What is the difference between the PAC and the Home Care & Hospice Defense Fund?
PAC funds may only go to campaign donations and cannot support the cost of advocacy efforts like public relations & lobbying. The HC&HDF offsets the association's operational cost of retaining adequate representation and generating positive PR that helps the entire industry.
Is my contribution tax deductible?
No. Your contribution is being made to a 501 c(6) organization and is not eligible for a tax deduction.
